Home Emergency Cover

Home Emergency Cover is included as standard* with our home insurance policies for no additional cost to you. Home Emergency Cover protects you in a number of cases where you require immediate assistance from a professional electrician, plumber or other specialist following certain emergencies in the home.

You have the option to upgrade to Home Emergency Plus cover for an additional cost, which provides increased claims limits and additional cover for home security and your boiler and heating system. Cover is provided for boilers up to 60 kiloWatts per hour output which have been maintained in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidelines (you may be asked to produce evidence of maintenance of the boiler in the event of a claim).

This section is for someone who is an owner or occupier who wishes to cover an Emergency caused by specified events when they do not already have relevant insurance cover.

This cover is only available in respect of owner occupied properties.  An emergency is not covered for a property in which you do not reside, or has been unoccupied (for example up for sale, or vacant) for more than 30 consecutive days.

24 Hour Assistance for Home Emergencies

Home Emergency and Home Emergency Plus provides cover for 24 hour assistance within your home for emergencies. A breakdown of what’s included with each is shown below:

This cover provides emergency access to qualified pre-vetted tradesmen, an emergency helpline 24 hours a day 365 days a year, covering call out charges and the cost of replacement parts. To sign up for Home Emergency Plus just select the option when completing your online quote.
